For the Opening Ceremony of the World Combat Games 2023, hosted for the first time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, we conceived and produced a captivating, emotional, and engaging show for over 4,000 attendees.
The artistic director’s vision was to fuse outstanding human performances with choreography, lights, costumes, special effects, originally composed music, with an international and local cast of martial arts specialists and acrobatic performers: the result has been a truly poetic and at the same time energizing show that was hugely enjoyed by the public and by the athletes.
The story narrated the journey of Nawaf, a young martial artist who rises to become a true warrior thanks to the teachings of a Grand Master. It reflected the values of the martial arts as well as the values of the Kingdom, taking the audience through a compelling narration of perseverance, strength, hope, and inclusion.
The show flow began with the National Anthem and the declaration of the Games opening, followed by a performance by Zena Emad, a famous Saudi singer who composed an original song for the World Combat Games.
